Environmentally conscious design choices were pre-requisites by the client. Most of the appliances were purchased from an appliance recycler and are Energy Star rated. The countertops are a recycled product called Squak Mountain Stone. The Ikea cabinets are a eucalyptus veneer which mimics the look of mahogany, and can be grown sustainably. Some flourishes include jewel toned slate tile, and recycled glass tile accents.
